Veins are a 'women's
problem'....NOT TRUE! Half of our patients are men.
Vein treatment is 'cosmetic'.....NOT TRUE! 96% of our work is
'medically necessary' and paid for by Medicare and private insurance plans.
"If my legs look fine, the veins must be
ok".....NOT TRUE! Patients can have terrible varicose veins INSIDE the
legs with painful, tired legs and their legs can appear to be perfectly normal.
90% of varicose veins are inside the leg. A patient with symptoms needs our
ultrasound evaluation....it is very clear cut....you either have vein valve
failure or you do not.
Vein treatment is 'expensive'........NOT TRUE!
Except for simple, cosmetic spider vein injections, Medicare and private
insurance plans pay for all investigations and treatments. And, for our
self-pay patients, we offer the 'Care Credit' plan with markedly reduced costs
and no interest for the first year.
Vein treatment is 'painful'........NOT TRUE! We do three types
of treatment and none are painful.
Vein treatment 'takes a long time',........NOT
TRUE! Each of the three treatments we offer takes about 45 minutes in the
office.
Recovery from vein treatment is
long........NOT TRUE! Patients can go back to normal activity the same day from
all treatments.
Weight loss is important........NOT TRUE!
Weight has nothing to do with valve failure. Many of our patients are lean
triatheletes.
Crossing one's legs causes vein
problems........NOT TRUE! Simply a myth!
